Arrive earlier by train for a Happy Holiday!
Great Circle Line & Points North Rail Road
Due to approaching winter storm, this event will not be open on Friday, December 12th.
A Model Train Layout
Great Circle Line & Points North Rail Road is a model train layout that uses Digital Command Control (DCC) technology to automatically operate O-Scale trains, while they traverse a tangled maze of three-rail track.
Locomotives and rolling stock — constructed primarily out of lithographed tinplate — mimic designs commonly deployed during the golden age of steam. Buildings, landscaping, and special effects suggest a whimsical and very wintery, arctic environment. A curved backdrop of mountain peaks and night sky, which partially extends around each side, confines the audience’s viewing area to just the front of the layout. Orientation of scenery and visual tricks in perspective favor such a restricted line-of-sight.
This privately-owned layout will be set up and open to the public for viewing at Heritage Village Museum, Sharonville, Ohio, during the 2025-2026 Christmas Holiday Season.
The museum is located inside Sharon Woods Park, which is maintained by Great Parks of Hamilton County, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Signs in the Parking Lot at Sharon Centre identify the sidewalks, which directly lead to Heritage Village Museum.
If you are arriving by car, a valid Motor Vehicle Permit may be required. A daily pass, or annual sticker, is available for purchase from the attendant on duty at the Park Entrance Booth. ($5 daily or $10 annual for Hamilton County residents; $8 daily or $16 annual for non-county residents). Additional information, explaining all Permit options, can be found at Great Parks’ website.
